Senior Property Accountant London £45k – £48k 4 days in the office, 1 day at home Bonus
The role: Our client require an Senior Property Accountant to join their Central London Finance team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing service charge reconciliations, lease inputs, financial reporting, and cash flow forecasting, and will provide essential support both the finance and property management teams.
Duties:
Prepare and complete annual service charge reconciliations in line with RICS guidelines.
Implement service charge budgets and update the system accordingly.
Review and monitor service charge budgets and expenditure.
Issue quarterly variance reports and ensure expenditure is reviewed with the Facilities Manager and Property Manager.
Liaise with property managers and external auditors regarding reconciliations and queries.
Ensure timely and accurate apportionment of service charges to tenants
Prepare and deliver regular and ad hoc client reports including client statements, bank reconciliations, VAT reports and VAT returns
Ensure all client financial deliverables meet agreed deadlines and quality standards.
Monitor bank accounts and ensure optimal cash management across portfolios.
Prepare short and long term cash flow forecasts.
Review and authorise payments to suppliers and clients
Requirements:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in property accounting, ideally within commercial real estate.
Strong working knowledge of service charge accounting and RICS code compliance.
Experience with lease management and property systems such as Qube, Yardi or Tramps.
Advanced Excel skills and experience handling large datasets.
