Head of Client Accounting – East London/Essex 

Reporting Partner in charge of Operations and Managing Partner

Salary – £60,000 – £70,000 plus discretionary annual bonus and other great benefits

Working hours- 9am – 5pm, office based, but flexibility considered for the right candidate

 Our client is a  successful firm of Chartered Surveyors, with offices in in London and beyond. The business has been operating for over 30 years and specialises in commercial property and asset management.

This newly created role is seeking an individual with prior experience to oversee and develop further our client accounting processes. Running the team of currently five staff, the role will involve taking a lead in organisation and structure and looking to maximise efficiency and client service. The role will also include responsibility for a client portfolio, but the emphasis will be on managing the team.

Duties:

  • Workload setting, structuring, and monitoring for team of five accountants, including setting workload of service charge work and client accounting of our client accountants.
  • Weekly reporting of progress to senior management
  • Ensuring all team members provide a good service, and that accounts payable, credit control, service charge management and client accounting are up to date, organised and supported.
  • Reviewing existing systems, structures and reporting and suggesting and implementing improvements.
  • Covering team members when on annual leave.
  • Covering overflow service charge reconciliations, not able to be covered by client accountants, during heavy times of the year.
  • Management of a modest portfolio, which will allow the individual to learn the businesses client accounting processes, to allow them to be reviewed. 

The full team of  accounting and surveying staff work very closely together, ensuring a personal service to clients, whilst ensuring its systems and services remain competitive against larger competitors in the market.

Essential attributes include

  • Team management experience and monitoring,
  • Advanced Property management System use
  • Full-service charge reconciliation experience including trial balance reconciliation.
