Property Service Charge Accountant / Client Side North London £60- £67K Excellent enhanced pension and bonus
The role: Manage the accounting for the annual block service charge budget, quarterly reforecasting and working with all the various teams to ensure that all service charge accounting is completed to the highest standard.
Duties:
Develop the service charge setting processes and procedures and ensure that this process is applied consistently across each block in line with RICS.
•Maintain the service charge models and ensure they correct as new assets are mobilised.
Raise quarterly tenant demands for service charges and adhoc charges on a quarterly basis.
Responsible for the recovery efforts of non-client buildings and apportionments.
Monitor aged debt alongside supervising credit control and arrears reporting escalating as appropriate.
Perform month end close activities including monthly review of budget vs actual expenditure and balance sheet analysis
Providing commentary to explain variances
Monthly reconciliation of apportionment of costs.
Preparing monthly reporting.
Handle service charge queries
Conducting year-end procedures including preparing trial balance reports
Preparing year-end income & expenditure reports and reconciliations.
Managing the relationship with the external service charge auditors, ensuring year-end service charge accounts and tenant packs are completed and issued on time.
Partner with key stakeholders within the business
Requirements:
Qualified or studying towards CIMA, ACCA or ACA
Prior service charge accounting work experience in Residential or Commercial
Strong working knowledge of RICS service charge code and the relevant legislations.
Experience of producing regular management accounts and managing budgets.
